S-Tier: the picks that hurt

Blitzcrank, Braum, Morgana, Nami, Nautilus, Neeko, Rakan, Rell are clearly above the rest at the moment. If you want to win games without too much hassle, start there.

D-Tier: to avoid in ranked

Annie, Fiddlesticks, Taliyah, Yuumi. Not necessarily bad in themselves, just not adapted to the current meta. For normal games, no problem.

A
Alistar, Bard, Brand, Leona, Lulu, Milio, Renata Glasc, Séraphine, Soraka, Tahm Kench, Thresh Very solid, slightly below S-tier but perfectly viable in ranked.
B
Amumu, Ashe, Janna, Karma, Lux, Maokai, Mel, Pyke, Senna, Swain, Vel'Koz Correct if you master them. Not the strongest picks but not bad either.
C
Heimerdinger, Hwei, Ivern, Orianna, Sona, Taric, Xerath, Zilean, Zyra Situational. It can work in certain compositions but you have to know what you are doing.
