Ziggs is by far the best ARAM champion in years for this reason: his Q Hand Bomb bounces and explodes, his W Miner creates an obstacle in the corridor, and especially his passive Shorty allows him to destroy turrets without putting himself in danger. No other champion has such a powerful turret passive. Sona in support turns impossible teamfights into easy victories — between her heals, her acceleration, and her Crescendo ult that instantly paralyzes the entire opposing team, she is an absolute terror in a tight lane.

Brand is the number one teamfight carry in ARAM: his Conflagration passive bounces between nearby enemies, and in a hallway where everyone is stacked on top of each other, a single Q-W-E can trigger a chain reaction that kills 3 people. Miss Fortune in ARAM is often different from MF ranked — here, her ultimate Rain of Bullets can hit everyone simultaneously for 3 seconds in this lane.

For champions to avoid: Lee Sin loses half of what makes him good (map awareness, ward-hop, insecs on scattered enemies). Rengar cannot hide in a durable bush. Nidalee without juggling camps becomes a simple spear weaver. If you pick them, it's not the same strength.
