S-Tier: the picks that hurt

Ahri, Jinx, Darius, Thresh, Lee Sin, Caitlyn, Jhin, Yasuo are clearly above the rest at the moment. If you want to win games without too much hassle, start there.

D-Tier: to avoid in ranked

Urgot, Skarner, Ryze, Azir, Ivern, Singed. Not necessarily bad in themselves, just not adapted to the current meta. For normal games, no problem.

A
Zed, Lux, Katarina, Miss Fortune, Nautilus, Malphite, Graves, Hecarim, Sett, Fiora, Sona Very solid, slightly below S-tier but perfectly viable in ranked.
B
Garen, Morgana, Ashe, Teemo, Warwick, Nasus, Twisted Fate, Renekton, Karma, Ezreal, Vi, Diana Correct if you master them. Not the strongest picks but not bad either.
C
Amumu, Rammus, Sivir, Tristana, Annie, Volibear, Blitzcrank, Jax, Leona, Soraka Situational. It can work in certain compositions but you have to know what you are doing.
